print Q&A
The emergence of Korea as a knowledge powerhouse in the intense global competition in the 21st century is the first step towards becoming a globally advanced country.

Recognizing the above, the IPS, which was established under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) in 1993, consistently engages in activities not only to predict changes in the domestic competition, but also to predict future environment changes, and focuses on policy and strategy development aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the government and businesses.

IPS carries out empirical studies on worldwide industrial policies, advisory work on government organizations and consulting activities for corporate strategic planning. It also selects trends emerging as the source of competitiveness going forward for its research themes, and provides advanced education programs based on the accumulated research results.

To conduct advanced research on the newly emerging research themes, the IPS taps into its more than 30 research centers comprised of a vast network of experts, and based on the accumulated research results, regularly hosts seminars as well as symposiums that serve as a venue for presentation of results of major studies to advance the economy and management-related mindset of top managers, and operates database of research findings for related parties to share knowledge and information.

IPS will continue to conduct practical researches and educational activities in order to contribute to Korea's emergence as a knowledge powerhouse, and will do its utmost to provide useful and essential information for enterprises and the nation.
