Call for Partners-National Competitiveness Research

Dear Prospective Partners:

The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) is looking for partners for its National Competitiveness Research. For more information regarding IPS, please visit its website: www.ips.or.kr. IPS has been publishing the annual, ¡°National Competitiveness Research¡± since 2001. The research introduces a theoretical background on national competitiveness and provides the competitiveness indexes of 65 countries around the world. In addition, it suggests government policies for enhancing competitiveness at the national level and helps companies formulate their international strategies.

In order to maintain and increase the samples of survey data, we need more partners to join us. Detailed information is as follows:

Qualification:
Universities (college or department), research institutes, government organizations, or private institutes with a good reputation.

Mission:
Collecting 50 or more survey questionnaires from business people and other qualified people about the competitiveness and business environment of their country.

Benefits:
  1. The complete set of data for 65 countries, in excel format, will be provided upon request for the participants¡¯ academic or practical research.
  2. One hard copy and five CD copies of IPS National Competitiveness Research (equivalent to US 200 dollars) will be provided, so the participants can see the analysis of their survey data by comparing them with those of other countries.
  3. The participants can submit articles on related topics and selected articles will be published in this annual research volume or Journal of International Business and Economy (JIBE, http://i-jibe.org).
  4. The authors of a few selected articles will be invited to present their research at the annual competitiveness forum held in Seoul. The forum is co-sponsored by Korea's Presidential Council on National Competitiveness, The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies, and Hankyung Business Daily, which is a leading economic daily in Korea.
