Overview

The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) has conducted diverse research and education programs to expand a culture of brand management and to cultivate brand experts, and has held "Korea Brand Conference (KBC)" annually since 2002.

At KBC, the result of national and corporate brand equity evaluation, conducted by the IPS Center for Brand Value Research is announced, and presentations of and activities related to more than 50 diverse topics related to brands including diverse brand cases, national, regional, corporate and personal brands and strategy analysis, Intensive Brand Specialist Program, Brand Specialist Program alumni are conducted.

Moreover, auxiliary events are held including the "Korea Brand Award Ceremony," a government-sponsored award that is presented to enterprises

and institutions that have cultivated powerful brands by means of creative and advanced brand management, "Brand Olympics," an awarding ceremony for excellent brands selected based on the result of IPS' corporate brand equity evaluation, and "Brand Academy," an award presented to brand managers and related practitioners who have achieved excellence.

Recognizing brands as a core source of competitiveness in the 21st century, KBC aims to promote the exchange of information among brand management experts in industry, academia and institutions both within and out of the country, to identify the standard of Korean brands and to present measures for upgrading Korean brands to a global standard, and to discuss strategies for enhancing the national brand equity.

Korea Brand Conference 2006

(International Conference on Strategic Innovation and Creativity in Brand & Design Management)

As in 2004, the Korea Brand Conference 2006 will be jointly held with the Design Management Institute (DMI), an American institute with a global reputation in design and brand management, and the Design Brand Management Society (DBMS), an association committed to promoting discussion on management that integrates design and brands. An International Conference on Strategic Innovation and Creativity in Brand & Design Management will be held on November 29, 2006 (Wed.).
